Orthodontics

Improve your smile with orthodontic treatments including braces and Invisalign. Do you or a member of your family suffer from crooked, gapped or misaligned teeth; or from a bite alignment issue such as over or underbite? With orthodontic treatment at TranscenDental Group, we can correct alignment issues, giving you straighter, more even teeth and protecting your teeth and jaws from stress and damage.

Traditional Metal Braces

If you have teeth that are crooked, crowded, or gapped, we may recommend braces. Braces are a common orthodontic treatment that can correct these issues and give you a smile that is straighter, healthier, and more attractive. They can also be used to correct problems with the alignment of your bite, such as an overbite, open bite, cross bite, or underbite. Braces work through a complex system of metal brackets, wires, and bands that combine together to straighten and realign your teeth. The brackets are bonded to the fronts of your teeth, and the wire is used to connect the brackets to one another. The bands apply tension to the entire brace structure. As your braces are adjusted over your treatment time, your teeth are gently guided to their proper alignment. While the average treatment time with braces is 18-30 months, your individual treatment time will depend on your unique situation and how your teeth and jaws respond to treatment. After your braces are removed at the end of the treatment time, you may need to wear a dental retainer to protect your teeth and hold them in place while they settle into their new alignment.

Invisalign

Have you ever wanted to straighten your teeth but felt reluctant to commit to life with metal braces? If so, Invisalign® might be just what you need to achieve the straighter, healthier, and more beautiful smile you deserve. Invisalign is a modern orthodontic system that allows you to straighten your teeth without metal brackets and wires. This treatment instead uses a series of smooth, transparent plastic aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. We often recommend Invisalign as a choice for patients who would like a more discreet treatment to straighten their smiles. It is a great option for adults who are interested in maintaining a natural, professional appearance during orthodontic treatment. Invisalign can be used to treat the same orthodontic issues that can be corrected with braces, including crowded, gapped, and crooked teeth. When you are being assessed for orthodontic treatment we will be able to determine whether Invisalign is the right option for you. In addition to being virtually invisible, the Invisalign aligners are removable so you can easily remove them to eat, floss, and brush your teeth. Orthodontic treatment can enhance your smile’s beauty by straightening your teeth, but it can also improve your dental health and function; properly aligned teeth are typically less prone to tooth decay and periodontal disease.
